BCL Group was born from a long and rich history of proud builders. In 1969, Mr. Serge Lemieux founded the company Groupe LSR, the aim of which was to build residential buildings. Mr. Serge Lemieux develops his business in Quebec and the United States. So over time and until his death in 2011, the company proves itself and acquires an enviable reputation on the real estate market.
With the arrival in 1991 of Benoît Lemieux within the LSR Group, more specifically within LSR Développement, Mr. Serge Lemieux makes the strategic decision to develop his business in the United States and to intensify his activities on the American market in Houston, Texas. Mr. Benoît Lemieux then moves to Houston and proceeded to acquire residential properties. He oversees the renovations of these various properties. By the end of the 90’s, the properties park is counting more than 1,200 units.
Back in Quebec in 2000, while continuing his activities in Texas, he created a new division, “LSR Immobilier”, specialized in office building management. The National Bank of Canada building in Montreal is one of its clients.
In 2004, Mr. Benoit Lemieux acquired various vacant land in a (sought-after) Houston area and created a new US division, InnerLooopCondos.com, which became a new investment engine. He is also made Vice President Operations and Finance of LSR Developments
In 2005, the Lemieux family sold its Quebec housing stock and M. Benoit Lemieux supervised this sale. This Canadian residential rental park had more than 1,400 units and was one of the largest private residential properties park in Quebec. Only 3 years after the sale of the housing stock, he is the investigator of the acquisition of more than 1300 rental units in Boca Raton, Florida. This acquisition comes at a time when the financial crisis is in full swing and could have prompted a less visionary investor to remain inactive. This property rental portfolio was successfully sold in 2016.
In 2009, Benoit Lemieux was appointed Executive Chairman of LSR Development.
In 2014, he expanded his activities by founding Surge Homes Development to offer a property management service mandated to develop and build residential projects. To do this, he has joined a business partner, Louis Migneault, who has worked with him for many years.
In 2015, four years after the death of his father, he acquired the majority of the real estate assets of the family business and founded the Group BCL.
